Example Consulting Projects

  • This is macro planning. Roadmap planning involves market research, business planning, and even hiring strategies. I’ll help you to build a multi-year roadmap that navigates around obstacles and prioritizes the highest impact work first.

Some benefits of Roadmap Planning are:

    1. Focus all employee efforts on the most valuable work to the business

    2. Demonstrate more value to, and inspire confidence in, potential investors

    3. Stay ahead of competitors

With a roadmap plan in place, you’ll find that the Founder of the company doesn’t need to attend weekly planning sessions to keep the team on track. Day to day questions are easily answered by referencing the high level plan. And the priorities of the company are understood by everyone.

  • Leaning on my experience as both a Product Manager and an Application Architect, I can help to plan out your next big feature.

Great planning entails anticipating the issues that you’ll face in the weeks of building, months of enhancing, and years of supporting your new feature. When I anticipate these issues, it allows you to plan around them and build with confidence.

The alternative to Implementation planning is to find those problems later and face two unsavory choices:

    1. Rebuild the feature (while supporting the current implementation); which may take weeks or months.

    2. Tolerate the sub-optimal implementation until you can “find time” to rebuild it.

Failing to plan is planning to fail. Let’s work out the details together.

  • I’ll comb through your software application and provide a prioritized list of UI/UX concerns, along with potential solutions. This will usually take a couple of days to complete, and can prove invaluable when prioritizing a roadmap of changes and improvements.

Information Architecture (IA) is a key component of these audits. Getting your application’s IA right is essential when adding new functionality to the application. A good IA will allow the application to scale with new features without breaking the mental model of the key concepts in the app.
